A Lonely Child
A lonely little child so cold and alone
Waits for a smile and a hand to hold
She is pushed away with a slap on her face
And words that she knows are said with hate.
What must she do to hear a kind word
Just once! so that she knows someone cares
She has no mum or dad so left alone
She must survive the long lonely years.
She is told she is bad like her mum
But this little girl has done no one wrong
She hopes one day to find her mum
To find out what wrong she had done
that was so bad
This lonely little child cries for help each day
But no one hears her so alone she must stay
No love does she find in this house so cold
If only there was someone for her to hold.
She has vowed not to do to her children
What was done to her as a child
Will this little girl know how to love?
When all that she knows is hate and hard words
Which are all kept inside.
This lonely little child hopes one day she will find
Someone to love her and to tell her they care
To take her hand and to hold her near
To say the words she longs to hear
I Love you, I am here for you and I care.
